Caelyn Valandra-Prue Unchained

The last time we saw Caelyn Calandra-Prue in competition, she was churning her way to a Class A state championship in the 400 meters. Sometimes, with the passage of a few months we forget that this young lady, daughter of Mike and Stacee Prue broke the Class A State meet record in the 400. Her 56.52 was the fastest Class A girl state meet performance EVER, in the history of South Dakota.
Well, it has been a few months since Valandra-Prue stepped onto a high-school basketball court for her Lady Falcons. Todd County lost to Dell Rapids in a Sweet-16 game and this young eighth grader, who scored over 500 points a year ago was named to the Class A, All-State 2nd team.
Now a freshman, Valandra-Prue, according to multiple reports and witnesses has spent a lot of time this summer and fall in the weight room at Todd County.
The Lady Falcons, No. 1 seeded at the upcoming Lakota Nation tournament tip off their season tonight in Valentine. Word on the street is the game, boys and girls will be webcast at http://striv.tv/channel/valentine/
So many great athletes and players on this Lady Falcon squad. A deep squad with a bunch of talented ladies, some who will play college basketball. For those of you who haven't had the opportunity to watch Valandra-Prue, tune in tonight and get ready to watch one of the fastest, toughest and best competitors that has EVER come through the Rosebud.
